If They Didn't Make the Obelisk Stationary It Would Fall

If they didn't make the obelisk stationary it would be a lot of work for nothing.  After traveling several miles through the Nile they had to be put some where.  Most obelisks were placed in pairs in front off a temple.  A ramp was prepared in advance and the pillar was pulled onto it.  The ramp was very unique.  It was like a funnel shaped hole that was filled with sand.  When the obelisk was where they wanted it to be they removed the sand.  That made the pillar lower into place.
This is an obelisk that had to be made stationary so it didn't fall

  1. I bet if it fell ther would be a mushroom of dust. I bet everyone who worked on it would cry if it broke in half.
