How Did People Make These Huge Beasts?

This is a obelisk that had almost been cut out of a quarry
Well... it involved tons of help.  Some obelisks were cut from single blocks of granite.  So it would take forever!  The others were made from Quartzite or Basalt.  They used stone from a quarry.  The most popular carving spot for obelisks in the Imperial Period was the Aswan Quarry.  Almost all of the obelisks had inscriptions of Hieroglyphics.  That is a lot of writing considering that the tallest obelisk still standing is 105 feet.  After the obelisk was carved to satisfaction it had to be transported.  They usually transported them to be in pairs in front of a temple
