How Would They Even Transport A 200 Ton Thing?

This is a picture of what a boat to transport obelisks would look like
Try carrying a 200 ton obelisk a long way...um not going to happen.  The Egyptians were very smart so they found a way to transport it.  The obelisk was placed on a heavy sledge.  Then several thousand sweaty men pulled it all the way to the banks of the Nile River.  Then little ships called vessels carried the obelisk to its destination.  Then the obelisk needed to be planted somewhere.  You could see that the Egyptian people were smart since they didn't try to carry it all the way.

  1. Wow! Egyptians were a lot smarter than i would have guessed! I would have thought though that the obelisks would have made the vessels sink. But there are obelisks still around so i guess not!
